Math Investigation

This week we were looking at tables and graphs. We wanted to know if we completed 5 sprints if our time would get faster or slower. Some of us hypothesized that we would get faster, some guessed that we would get slower because we would get tired.

It was unanimous, we all got slower! Five sprints in a row is tiring!

Maker-y Robots

On Wednesday Baruk came in and introduced us to the Maker-y Robots. We learned how to code to make the robots change colours. We can't wait for our next session where we will create code to make the robot move.

Netball

This week we were lucky enough to have Papakura Netball in our school. They took us through some netball drills and we got to play a fun game.

Thanks for teaching us some of the basics!

Tuakana teina

This year Room 10 have joined forces with the juniors and we are tackling buddy reading! Every Monday we have an afternoon session where the babies can read to us and we help them to use their pointy finger and to say words properly. Kids are doing a great job so far and it's great to see them nurturing our little ones.

Haiku

Haiku is a form of poetry that we have been exploring this week in writing. We have been using haiku to describe the weather.
Enjoy :)
Please check out individual blogs for more on our learning.

Digital Korowai

In class we have been learning about who we are and where we are from. We completed a digital korowai to help show this. We used text (English and our own) and pictures to show the things that are important to us. Here are a few, if you would like to see more check out our individual blogs! :)

Learning goals

At the beginning of this term we thought about goals we wanted to achieve this term. Here are some of the things we came up with.
