Netball

This week we were lucky enough to have Papakura Netball in our school. They took us through some netball drills and we got to play a fun game.

Thanks for teaching us some of the basics!

Whanaungatanga Event

This term our inquiry unit was whanaungatanga. Students in Room 2 got into groups and organised a whole school event with activities that promoted whanaungatanga within our school. Each group organised the activities and ran the event for groups of approximately 25 students.
There were a variety of different activities ranging from dance offs and chant competitions to chocolate river and water balloon dodgeball. Students were marked on how well they gave instructions, how clear their voice was and most importantly how well they reinforced positive behaviour with positive feedback.
Our next step would be to consistently model these positive behaviours in our school and look at ways to promote whanaungatanga in our community. We hope you enjoy our learning.

If you have time please check out students' individual blogs, they are on the left hand side of our class blog and have have more about what we are learning.

Frucor Activity Day

How lucky we were today to have Alistar and his team of superstars from Frucor come and take our school for a day of activities and fun. We had a dance battle station, technology, soccer, chocolate river, egg creations and target practise. From everyone at Edmund Hillary, thank you.

NZ's Olympic Champions

Today we had the opportunity to go to the home coming welcome for our Olympic athletes at the cloud. We were lucky enough to meet many medalists including Huriana Manuel, Portia Woodman, Tyla Nathan-Wong, Mahe Drysdale, Sarah Goss, and many more. The olympians were so humble and kind towards our tamariki, even though they had just come off a huge flight, and were being swamped, left, right and centre. We received medals, printed pictures, and flags. Thanks to the team at ANZ for making this trip happen!
